Title: Live On Surprise Pairing: Jack/Liz Rating: PG (for implication) Type: Drabble Disclaimer: I don't own the characters or the show. (I'm no Tina Fey.) Summary: Jack gets her to try something new.
“No, Jack, I really can’t.”
“You can’t do anything unless you try.”
“Oh, c’mon! Don’t give me that!”
”I could say the same to your stubbornness right now.”
“I don’t care, Jack, I’m not doing it.”
“You know that we’d both greatly enjoy it. Just try it.”
“I’ll do it wrong and you’ll laugh at me.”
“I can promise you I’d never laugh, especially if you did this just because I asked you to.”
“…”
“You can pretend I’m someone else if that would make it easier.”
“Grrrr! I guess I’m gonna do it then. But only because I’m a little drunk and… it would probably feel good.”
‘That’s it, Lemon. Come over here so... we can get this started.”
“Oh, blerg.”
“Haha.”
“… You’re going to play the piano?”
”Oh yes. You can’t sing your favorite song for me without the music, now can you?”
”I guess not…”
“There’s that smile! Now… sit here and sing that song, Liz.”

What Are You Thankful For? [Jack/Liz] TITLE: What Are You Thankful For? PAIRING: Jack/Liz NOTES: thoughtsicles prompt: Thanksgiving SPOILERS: "Do-Over" RATING: G SUMMARY:
*****
On November 26th, before everyone leaves for the Thanksgiving holiday, Jack Donaghy is asked by Kenneth (Ellen) what he's thankful for this year. Jack unflinchingly responds with his usual response of, "My wealth and good looks, Kenneth. Naturally."
The young page had smiled in that slightly confused way he had sometimes, nodded, and carried on, asking other people what they were thankful for. Jack had watched him as he gave the question some more serious consideration.
He was thankful for his wealth and good looks certainly. But that was the tip of the iceberg. He was thankful he had his job back. He was thankful he managed to evade much of the insanity and alcoholism that plagued the other members of his immediate family.
The ruminating on Kenneth's question continues that next day. He was thankful for his dinner companion this year -- a woman who, despite being a thorn in his side in the beginning, was now his best friend (and possibly the only woman he'd ever been able to trust): Liz Lemon. He was thankful Manuel could cook a mean turkey dinner. He was thankful he and Lemon were able to finish off most of it by themselves.
He was thankful she didn't care (or make fun of him) when he needed to change out of his suit following the meal, and that she didn't make a big deal out of seeing him in sweatpants for the first time (though she did choke back a laugh). He was thankful that Liz felt comfortable enough in his home now to bring her own change of clothes, since she too was feeling uncomfortably full.
He was thankful that she didn't rush out right away, and that they could amicably chat while flipping through satellite TV together. He was thankful she didn't insist they watch It's a Wonderful Life as C.C. did the year before (even though he knew Lemon enjoyed that movie).
But what he was most thankful for happened about an hour into the movie they'd settled on. When he looked down and found Lemon had fallen asleep with her head on his chest. Her long sable eyelashes fluttered with sleep and her chest rose and fell comfortably against his side.
He was most thankful for the overwhelming feeling that come over him in that moment; a feeling completely foreign and yet all at once familiar when it came to this woman:
Love.
